Customers say

Customers appreciate the software’s solid antivirus protection and reliability. They find it covers all the bases for protection and is one of the highest rated programs. However, some are disappointed with auto renewal. Opinions differ on functionality, ease of installation, value for money, download speed, and whether it slows down computers.

Can’t give it more than one star if the software can’t be activated and is therefore useless.
You know, back in the 2000’s, all you had to do was purchase a Norton antivirus on CD, which came with a product key, you installed it, entered the key and then activated it, after which you just had to do a bunch of updates. But no longer. Now they collect everybody’s data by forcing them to sign-up for a Norton account, whether you want one or not, and if you buy this for somebody else, in this case it was for a customer, forget it. After I purchased it, I couldn’t even sign up for a new account under my customer’s email address because apparently since I bought the software, Norton is demanding my information from my previous Norton account. Uh, hey Symantec, did you ever think about the possibility that some might actually be buying the software for another party? Apparently not, because I could not proceed with this ridiculous Norton account setup, and so I now have to call Amazon and return this. I should also point out that in the past, ever since they began demanding users sign up for a Norton account, this has always been a problem with Norton because they over complexified this process when they didn’t have to, while also demanding personal information that you shouldn’t have to give. Last I checked, I am the customer, I am the one buying the software from them, so that makes me the boss, and therefore they really don’t have the right to ask for that information, let alone make it a requirement…especially after I already purchased it. Well, the only positive thing is that I now know that Norton is still a nuisance to install and setup, which you can’t do unless you sign-up for a Norton account, and I don’t like that at all.

26 Years later and still kicking butt!!
Norton has protected every PC that I or my immediate family have ever owned. In a little over 26 years, I’ve had only 2 issues, both of which were many years ago, and quickly fixed by downloading a patch from Norton. I’ve never needed to call customer service so I can’t speak to that. Both of my issues were resolved via self-service, and as I recall, the fix was quick and easy. Over the years Symantec has made great strides in making the Norton group of products much easier to use and understand. The current edition is like a one-and-done solution that requires little, if any interaction from the user, but don’t let the simple user interface fool you, this software gives you stout protection against the latest and greatest security risks out there. As far as I can tell, Norton stays on top of their game, and I’ve never had to think twice about any security warnings in the news or any other source for that matter. I’ve installed it on PCs for my parents, elderly neighbors, my mother-in-law, my aunt, several friends, and 10 or so, PCs at work. It’s easy enough to use that pretty much anyone able to surf the web will be able to use it, most likely with no problems. In a nutshell, It’s simple, strong, and it just plain works. ** Pro tip: Buy it, install it, agree to the subscription (renewal for the regular price of $119 after a year), set a reminder (or several, so you don’t miss it) in your phone for two weeks shy of a year, cancel your subscription 1-2 weeks before renewal (it’s good for a full year), and then buy it again on Amazon. Rinse and repeat.

    Excellent AV & password manager
I’ve used Norton since ‘95 in my corporate and personal capacities. Never, ever had a WINxx PC infected, hijacked, botted, or rendered unusable or unstable. If you buy here, wait until a few days before your present subscription expires and call tech support very late at night if in North America. You will get a daytime support person in India that way. Have your key code ready. Tell agent installation fails, you need help installing. You will be assisted. Good luck understanding the fractured, high speed “English. ” Sometimes chat works better. Norton is well worth the price here vs the extra effort to install. They are set up to favor their own renewal process and price, which is significantly higher.Never had a problem with activation codes or compatibility. Speeds are always very fast. Security is beyond reproach. By the way, they have quit nagging you as they had been doing since being sold. Now, all you get are the standard update notices, etc. If you are aniOS user, save your money.
