Received mine as advertised with windows 11 Home unlike others who got theirs with Ubuntu. There are a few similar models on the market these days, some are official imports with local warranties and some are gray imports. Regardless of the advertised specs, you should get in touch with the particular seller you are ordering from and confirm the specs before ordering. People who received theirs with Ubuntu should check their displays as those usually come with the upgraded 165Hz display so it balances out. If you are buying “sold by amazon” you’ll get it as described in the product page for the version selected.This is a budget gaming laptop, so do not expect any fancy materials or features. The 120Hz base display is very dim and looks dimmer than the rated max brightness of 250 nits would suggest, it’s also prone to ghosting because of the long GTG response time. I would recommend avoiding it if you can, the 165Hz display is miles better. The base 56W 3-cell battery is also dismal but unfortunately battery specs are not always in the description. If you can stretch your budget to a similarly specced Lenovo Legion 5, skip this dell altogether and go for the Lenovo which is better packaged, faster and more reliable, all for a small price premium.

[...]I searched a long time for the just right computer for me. I traded some features that I desired for other options that kept the new computer within my price range. For the money, this computer performs excellent. The overall appearance is just right for using it at my work place and having it not appear too modern and gaming. There are no monster logos or anything that would make it not business like. I don’t game, I just multitask and want my computer to be top of the line for what I do. I love how the power cord plugs in to the back of the computer instead of on one of the sides. The screen resolution is great! Very clear and crisp. The keypad is easy to type on and I like how the keys spring back. I took some getting used to on this size of 15.6, but it is getting easier downsizing from a 17. The battery life is only about 3 hours despite what the reviews say. This is without video and just using the computer without gaming. It charges quickly and the length of charge the battery holds for as much power as this computer has is fair. I can live with it. A bad experience I had was letting the battery go down too far and then the computer did updates when it was in sleep mode and ran the battery down too much causing it to need to be brought back up in safe mode. My fault, but after being a bit confused about how to do that, I then figured it out and I’m glad to say I’m up and running again. I won’t get too technical because I’m not a techy person, but enough to know that the processor of the Intel 7, 11th generation is fantastic. Having 16gb of ram is a must and quite useful with how I use it. And I don’t think I’ll need more than the 500gb of storage. I can always back up things like photos that get too congested and clear more room if that happens. I love that it’s quiet with the SSD and doesn’t get too hot. There are no sharp edges so I can safely put it on my lap or legs in a recline position. I realize this comment is probably not up to what a technical person looks for, or a gamer, but for you basic users out there, it doesn’t hurt to get the bells and whistles of a gaming computer to add to your experience of how you use it and nice to have. I like how fast it plays the word games I play and it’s quick for bidding on my auction website. Don’t pass this up if you are on the fence. I went through many HP’s and decided on this dell.
