Severely Damaged Laptop, on the brink of corruption
I knew I was purchasing a refurbished unit, but I can’t believe the condition of this laptop. The entire side of the computer where the connections are is smashed and permanently bent. It’s not even possible to insert an Ethernet cable for internet. Dents all over the unit, and it’s SO LOUD. Sounds like a Helecopter taking off. I’m afraid all that noise is coming from the hard drive, which could fail at any second.There is a circle of slight discoloration right in the middle of the screen, not sure what that is a loud. Seems like everything is a bit slow to load up. I may have wasted my money on this one….

Looked like new on the outside, inside not so much
This was a good deal the macbook looks like brand new on the outside. On the inside is another story the fan and air vents were fully clogged with dust and the battery was starting to swell a bit from age. After some cleaning and a new battery the unit works and described.

Good, cheap, cost-effective.
I was a little leery of purchasing a computer this old. B ut once I fired it up, it ran seamlessly and I forgot I was using a 10+ year old device. Some of the firmware and updates can be a little tricky… but nothing that a little patience and research to find compatible software won’t fix. FY$I the highest operating system you can run is Mac high Sierra 10.3 I don’t know if that meets your needs. Also the disk drive is a useful feature, for watching dvds etc. This thing is a dinosaur but worth every penny. You probably won’t find a cheaper Mac that still runs out there hope this helps

First let me start by saying to all the loyal Mac users, don’t bash me to hard🫣 I wanted a Mac that had all the connections etc; usb, ethernet port, hdmi, cd/dvd optical drive, headphone port. You see, I love music, and I heard the sound quality of a Mac is best for music. No, I’m not a producer, I just love my own music collection. The only apple device I own is an iPod touch 7th generation.My brother is a Mac fanatic. After telling him what I wanted, he told me these were out dated, and impossible to find, if I did find one the price would be crazy! I took that as a challenge and the search began. Prices were really crazy without all the amenities I was looking for.Indeed it took a while, but I landed here. Everything I was looking for and the price was crazy great! (for my pocket). Yes, I read it was reconditioned, and the possibility of pings and dings. The return policy was great, so I took a chance.Delivery was fast, well packaged, to my surprise, the condition looked MINT!Setup was easy, I can transfer my iPod library, battery life not bad at all (depending on usage) without the charging cable. The only drawback is there are no more current updates for this unit. But for my use, it’s a winner.So if you’re looking for the current Mac device, with the current updates and all the connections I mentioned in my opening description, then yes, as my brother stated, it’s impossible to find. But for my 1st Mac I love it

Switching out of S mode in Windows 11
Windows 11 in S mode is designed for security and performance, exclusively running apps from the Store. If you want to install an app that isn’t available in the Store, you’ll need to switch out of S mode

1. On your PC running Windows 11 in S mode, open Settings > System > Activation.

2. In the Switch to Windows 11 Pro section, select Go to the Store. (If you also see an “Upgrade your edition of Windows” section, be careful not to click the “Go to the Store” link that appears there.)

3. On the Switch out of S mode (or similar) page that appears in the Store, select the Get button. After you see a confirmation message on the page, you’ll be able to install apps from outside of the Store.
