So at first glance I was pleasantly impressed by the great condition. I checked all the ports and the only HDMI port is completely rusted, and it looks like there water damage (white spots) in other ports and around the fan holes. There’s literal dust bunnies in others, looks like it was put together in a lint factory that flooded. Theres hair and maybe food debris in the keys.I checked the battery health and so far its sitting just under 85% I think. For some reason, after connecting to my home network my CPU jumped to 100% use so thats kind of alarming to me.I’m still in the process of checking out the other specs and everything (like checking if all keys work, testing battery strength). So far its running okay, kind of loud, but if it has as much dust bunnies inside as it does in its ports then I can understand why.Honestly, to say its in excellent condition is an overexaggeration: This should have been given a “Good” quality description. Theres a couple small scuffs which is fine but considering the amount of gross stuff in the cracks, I can only imagine how rough it was pre-renewing process. I don’t understand how it wasn’t cleaned though.You get what you pay for I guess. Either way, I’m going to adjust my review as time reveals more information. I only got it to do minor stuff on it like writing, checking emails, watch shows, etc.P.s. the 8th gen i5 version I got is upgradable to Windows 11. I checked their list online before buying it and I got the update notification already on the computer.

BUYER BEWARE! IT ONLY WORKS FOR A FEW HOURS!
The laptop worked for only two and a half hours!I use the same exact model for my work computer for the last four years. I’m very familiar of its capabilities and limitations. I wanted one for personal use at home for light use. I thought it was a good deal when I came across the posting on Amazon.The seller claims that – “This product is inspected, tested, and refurbished, as necessary to be fully functional according to Amazon Renewed standards.” – I think that may be a false claim.The laptop was received in good packaging and very clean. Almost new condition.I plugged the laptop in and decided to let it charge for about an hour to charge up the batteries before doing any powering up and setting up Windows10 on the system. After an hour I went ahead and powered it up for the first time with the power cable still plugged in. I was able to go through the entire Windows10 set up process getting my account set up completely. While in the process of running windows update 30 minutes later the system suddenly started to beep with low battery notifications. I finally noticed that the charging indicator icon was not active and the laptop was not charging at all. I tested the power cord and did not find any problems with it. I used another same-type charger from my work laptop and that too does not work with this laptop. I ran some Dell diagnostics with the remaining power left in the batteries and it shows that the system does not recognize any chargers plugged in or the system is not receiving any power when plugged in. After further troubleshooting the problem, it appears that the charging port is completely defective. The different cables I plugged into the charging port felt extremely loose and unable to make a proper connection.As of this writing the laptop is now completely drained of power from the batteries and there is no way for me to perform a factory reset to wipe all my personal information from the system. This makes me very uncomfortable returning it for a refund or replacement. I feel like the only option I have is to find a local computer repair shop that can repair hardware like the power port on this system.I don’t think I will be buying anything marked as “refurbished” or “renewed”This was a very bad experience overall.

This time getting a factory recondition paid off!
This is the laptop as the centerpiece of my audio/MIDI research studio. When I got it, it started kicking butt right away, I got it for audio, so 16 gig ram, quad processor, SSD drive all make it hum, it’s most notable weakness is that it’s only 1.7 Ghz not like 3Ghz & I5. It still is fast and multitasks well…. It is windows 11 Pro, Pro is good….As with all 14″ laptops, it’s got good real estate on the monitor, but is a little heavy, and a little large, a tradeoff….Hard drive is 512 GB, you might want to trade up to a 1 TB drive. I generally like Dell as an American brand (I don’t like HP) and I owned a computer repair company for over 20 years….Gud luk!
