I picked this up as a travel computer so that, if something happened to it, I’m not out of a lot of money.If you want something fast with lots of cores that can handle gaming and/or other CPU/GPU-intensive apps, this won’t meet your needs. If your needs are more modest, this may do the trick.All I’m looking to do with it is check email, browse the web, watch videos, etc., while I’m away from home. I can imagine it being an adequate student laptop for a family on a budget.That said, it has a decent feature set, considering what you pay for it. The operating system (Windows 11 Pro) is not activated, though it is mostly functional. You can’t personalize the display, and it nags you about activating.Because it’s not activated, you don’t require (and cannot use) a Microsoft account. You create an account that isn’t tied to your normal Microsoft stuff. I can’t use One Drive, for example, but that isn’t what I care about with this machine.You can activate Windows, of course, which (at the time of this posting) will set you back about $300 USD. However, if you want a fully activated Windows laptop at some point down the road, you’ve spread out the cost over time. It’s an interest-free loan in that case (though who knows if the price of activation will go up in the meantime).It has plenty of ports (3 USB including type C, HDMI, micro SD, wired headphone/mic jack, and a dedicated LAN port). I like that last one, as you can use WiFi or a physical cable to connect to a router.The keyboard is full-sized and, so far, has held up to simple use. Same with the trackpad.It comes with WPS (a free alternative to Microsoft Office), which I haven’t used, but it should do fine for basic tasks (word processing, spreadsheet, presentation). As far as I can tell, it uses the Office file formats (docx, for example), so it should be reasonably compatible.I haven’t had an occasion to print anything with the laptop, so I can’t speak to that.It comes with 16GB RAM and a 512GB SSD. All in all, not bad for the price.

Needed an inexpensive laptop for…
[...]outdoor registration for a Steel Plate Match. Temperatures range from the 20’s to 90’s. This laptop fit the bill. I have only tested it in the 20’s and 30’s so far. It is certainly not the fastest but high speed was not a requirement. An Intel processor was and this laptop is great so far. The screen is very good, it is lightweight and was a breeze to set up. I bought a wireless mouse / keyboard combo but the keyboard on this is so good I wish I had just bought a wireless mouse. I do not like the track pads or whatever they are called. Battery life seems fine so far but I haven’t run it for more than three hours on battery alone yet and it still had plenty of power. If you want an inexpensive laptop that will be adequate for most tasks I highly recommend this one.
