Switching out of S mode in Windows 11
Windows 11 in S mode is designed for security and performance, exclusively running apps from the Store. If you want to install an app that isn’t available in the Store, you’ll need to switch out of S mode
1. On your PC running Windows 11 in S mode, open Settings > System > Activation.
2. In the Switch to Windows 11 Pro section, select Go to the Store. (If you also see an “Upgrade your edition of Windows” section, be careful not to click the “Go to the Store” link that appears there.)
3. On the Switch out of S mode (or similar) page that appears in the Store, select the Get button. After you see a confirmation message on the page, you’ll be able to install apps from outside of the Store.

Since it’s a renewed product it did came with 90%-87% of battery life(kind of disappointed because I thought it could be changed), and the charger cable was not usable(burned on each end). If that could be a problem for you, then don’t take the risk. I am happy with what I bought because of price and I did know these details on amazon renewed products beforehand, but if you don’t have a problem, you should definitely have this in mind.

[...]I’d never purchased a second-hand computer through Amazon before, but after buying this in 2024 (writing the review a year later), I’m happy I did. I had been debating between a brand-new computer and this refurbished 2023 Pro M2 Max, and I’m so glad I saved a thousand dollars by opting for ‘last year’s model.’ The computer arrived looking basically brand new—original box and all—and shipped super fast. The M2 Max chip is an absolute game-changer. It makes this computer blazingly fast—ridiculously fast, actually. Zero complaints so far. Really, you don’t need ‘this year’s model’ unless you do full time video work with special effects, probably.I can even run Adobe Premiere Pro on it—one of the most memory-hungry programs out there—and I’m able to render short timelapses (up to six minutes) insanely fast. Each minute of video only takes about a minute of rendering time, which is a massive improvement over my old MacBook Air (which, to be honest, couldn’t even handle Premiere Pro at all). I can practically feel Adobe Premiere bowing to the raw power of this machine.I did buy a protective case and a keyboard cover right away to try to prolong the life of this computer and keep it from getting banged up. The only downside is that it can get a little warm when you really push this computer. I specifically picked a hardshell case with little feet to prop it up and allow for better airflow – definitely helps a lot.
